Our Memorial Day parade is one of the most anticipated events in Hartford. Our neighbors, family and friends gather to celebrate the amazing men and women who served, and continue to serve, to protect our great nation.

Take a look around. One of the largest landmarks is our central school. The events and programs for our local kids are the responsibility of the Hartford youth commission. We all have a part in creating well rounded and compassionate young men and women.

Just a short drive down Hartford Main Street (formerly County Route 23), away from the high school, you will find the Hartford Town Hall. This is the most important hub in our town. The Town Clerk is here for residents and offers an important information center for the community.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Hartford Town Board has a vacancy for a member of the Board of Assessment Review. Any Hartford resident may submit letter of interest and qualifications to the Hartford Town Clerk, P.O. Box 214, Hartford, NY 12838 by noon on October 10, 2025 in order to be considered at the October 14, 2025 Town Board meeting.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PRELIMINARY BUDGET OF THE TOWN OF HARTFORD FOR THE YEAR 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the preliminary budget of the Town of Hartford for the fiscal […]

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the preliminary budget of the Town of Hartford for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2026, including general town funds, highway funds, fire protection district funds, light district funds, and exemption summary has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Hartford, 165 Hartford Main Street, where it is available for inspection by any interested person during office hours.

The Town Board of the Town of Hartford shall hold a public hearing on said preliminary budget at its regular monthly meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 7:05 p.m. at the Town Hall, showing such changes, alterations and revisions as shall have been made therein by the Town Board of the Town of Hartford. At such hearing, any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained. Copies of the preliminary budget are available prior to the meeting from the Town Clerk during normal business hours.
The following are the proposed year 2026 salaries of certain Town Officers of the Town of Hartford:
Supervisor $ 6,121.00
Councilpersons (4) $ 1,590.25 each
Town Clerk $41,284.00
Highway Superintendent $57,995.00
Town Justice $ 9,617.00
