Town of Hartford Highway Department is accepting applications at this time for potential future openings. Applicants must possess a valid Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement. Must be a heavy equipment operator, with auto, small engine, mechanical and welding/fabricator skills. A pre-employment welding and mechanical performance evaluation and drug screening will be required. Must be able to run small equipment and perform manual labor with heaving lifting up to and over 100lbs. Mandatory overtime required during snow and ice season. Must reside within a 10-mile radius of Highway garage.
Rate of pay is $16.65 per hour for 6-month probationary period then goes to $18.50 per hour. Employee will receive vacation, personal and sick time along with health insurance that employee must pay 25% of premium.
